Some day I trust that people who have mental health disorders will be regarded just like those who have diabetes or high blood pressure. Treating mental health is no less important than treating physical health. Demystifying and normalizing mental health treatment will place us on the path of acceptance, tolerance and understanding.
I am passionate about my work as a therapist, a nurse practitioner and as a teacher. Mentoring students going into the mental health field is important, as is teaching my clients about medications and ways they can feel better in and about their lives. Teaching Skillful Use of Power workshops is something that can shift how we view and use power in our society. I feel we would have a better world if more people understood the use of personal power.
